- Winthrop – with 57.25 percent of student-athletes on the honor roll – was among eight conference schools with more than 50 percent of its student-athletes to achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better (based on a 4.0 scale) for the recently completed academic year.
- Winthrop President Jayne Marie (Jamie) Comstock said she is pleased to see that Winthrop student-athletes continue to be conference role models in the classroom, as well as in the community service arena.
