Historical Note

Clarence Holland "Icky" Albright [1906-2000] served on Rock Hill (SC) City Council from 1940-1944, as Mayor of Rock Hill from 1948-1954, and as South Carolina State Senator from 1966-1968. Icky Albright was a realtor, insurance executive, and the regional director of the Small Business Administration. He is also credited with being one of the driving influences in the founding of Rock Hill, SC's Come-See-Me Festival.

Harper S. Gault [1906-1995] was a writer and businessman in Rock Hill, S.C. He was co-owner of radio station WRHI 1948-1984 and owner of the Rock Hill Times.

Scope and Content Note

The Friedheim's of Rock Hill, South Carolina relates the history of the family through narrative, stories, anecdotes and photographs. There is a outline of the family connections at the back of the booklet. The Friedheim Brothers operated a department store in Rock Hill in 1866. The store closed in 1965. The author, C.H. Albright married one of Arnold Friedheim's granddaughters.
