Scope and Content Note

The collection contains household artifacts from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Items included in the collection are a wax bead necklace, eyeglasses, a set of hand cotton cards, a clothes iron (or sad iron), a cast iron cobbler’s stand, a wooden shoe last and five wooden loom shuttles.

Provenance

The Kerr Artifact Collection was donated to the Winthrop University Archives and Special Collections in 2016 by Dorothy Kerr.
