The Robert C. Winthrop Letters Collection contains six personal letters of Robert C. Winthrop (1809-1894) lawyer and philanthropist who was the benefactor and namesake for Winthrop University. In this collection, there is an invitation to a gentleman for lunch, a thank you note, an accepting to an invitation, and a request for Abraham Lincoln’s autograph.
