Clarence Holland "Icky" Albright (1906-2000) served on Rock Hill (SC) City Council from 1940-1944, as Mayor of Rock Hill from 1948-1954, and as South Carolina State Senator from 1966-1968. Icky Albright was a realtor, insurance executive, and the regional director of the Small Business Administration. He is also credited with being one of the driving influences in the founding of Rock Hill, SC's Come-See-Me Festival.

Scope and Content Note

Clarence Holland "Icky" Albright (1906-2000) served on Rock Hill (SC) City Council from 1940-1944, as Mayor of Rock Hill from 1948-1954, and as South Carolina State Senator from 1966-1968. Icky Albright was a realtor, insurance executive, and the regional director of the Small Business Administration. He is also credited with being one of the driving influences in the founding of Rock Hill, SC's Come-See-Me Festival. The Clarence Holland Albright Papers consist primarily of correspondence, speeches, and newspaper clippings, but also included are biological sketches of Mr. Albright and of Richard B. Russell, (a Georgia congressman and governor), historical sketches, petitions and resolutions relating to Rock Hill, S.C., and a scrapbook which highlights Mr. Albright’s career as a realtor, insurance executive, Rock Hill City councilman and mayor, and regional director of the Small Business Administration. There is also information on Mr. Albright’s father, Dr. George C. Albright.
