The booklet consists of a report of a United States House of Representatives committee which was referred the petition of Alexander Scott of South Carolina concerning the theft of the property of William Scott, James Pettigrew, and John Pettigrew of S.C. by a party of Cherokee Indians. In June of 1794, the Cherokee attacked these men and killed them and their families. The Cherokee carried away twenty-one slaves and goods and chattel worth more than $1000.
