Scope and Content Note

The Centennial Time Capsule Committee Records consists of records related to the three time capsules placed at City Hall (2) and at the York County Library (1) as part of the City’s Centennial Celebration in 1992. The Centennial Time Capsule Committee was a citizens committee that was tasked with selected items that reflected life in Rock Hill, SC in the year 1992 for inclusion in these time capsules that are to be opened in 2092. The records consist of committee minutes, a committee mission statement, committee agendas, meeting notes, list of committee members, advertisement post card, correspondence list of time capsule contents, letters to “future citizens”, list of people who were asked to provide letters, and instructions for correctly preserving the items.
