Winthrop Close Up is a weekly news cast produced by the Advanced Journalism and Advanced Broadcast Production classes at Winthrop University. This week’s Best of Show Episode deals with the new Amphibian Quartette, the difference between the iPhone and Android, the Occupy Winthrop Event, the new League of Extraordinary Characters, the Tri Sigma Cupcake War Event, the effects of having a pet on campus, how Brianna Murray gets around campus, how a Winthrop Student deals with Type One Diabetes, what has Winthrop ‘steaming” at night, and students that wear leggings as pants. The Best of Show Episode also showcased the Best of Close Up Eagle Sports with the new Swim Trainer Class, how Frank Hizzo feels about Bike riding, and the joys and upsets of a senior athlete. The Best of Show Episode also looks at the Best of Arts and Entertainment with how Jesse Poweres makes a mark on the stage, how buying art supplies can be very expensive, and how Josh Honea makes his own beats.
