Winthrop Close Up is a weekly news cast produced by the Advanced Journalism and Advanced Broadcast Production classes at Winthrop University. This week’s Best of Show Episode deals with students’ reaction to a Religious groups speaking out on their religions, how Vandalism has affected Winthrop’s Campus, the Construction Update on the new Student Center, the York County Crop Walk, the Annual Red Cross Blood Drive, and the Annual Family Enrichment Weekend. The Best of Show Episode also showcased the Best of Close Up Sports with a Red Shirt Cross Country Junior Adam Freudenthal, Intramural Intertube Water Polo, Winthrop and Disc Golf, Life after Basketball For Johnnie Rice, and What’s in a Number for an athlete’s Jersey Number. The Best of Show Episode also looks at the Best of Arts and Entertainment with the Carolina Sky gazers Astronomy Club, how Vanessa Thompson celebrates Halloween, how organizations on campus help out at Scarowinds, the Monkey Brothers, and the Popsicle eating contest.
