Winthrop Close Up is a weekly news cast produced by the Advanced Journalism and Advanced Broadcast Production classes at Winthrop University. This week’s Best of Show Episode deals with the Bone Marrow Drive for two soccer players mother, the Annual Relay for Life, the Potato Drop Fundraiser for the Hungry, History behind the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Vienna Teng’s Experience with Music, the Winthrop University Swagger Jacked Event, and how some students relieve stress. The Best of Show Episode also showcased the Best of Close Up Eagle Sports with the Golf Team at the Big South Championships, how the Tennis Teams prepare for the Big South Championships, and a Dance Aerobics Class. The Best of Show Episode also looks at the Best of Arts and Entertainment with the Timmons Brothers Rock and Roll Trivia, and DSU Concert of Eric O’Shea and Natalie Stoval, along with the closing of several airlines due to the volcanic ash pollution, an increase in unskilled foreign workers in Malaysia, the 15th Year after a bombing in Oklahoma city.
