Winthrop Close Up is a weekly news cast produced by the Advanced Journalism and Advanced Broadcast Production classes at Winthrop University. This week’s Best of Show Episode deals with the violence in Kenya and its effect on some Winthrop Students, why some students feel guns should be allowed on campus and why students do drugs. The Best of Show also showcased some Eagle Sports Updates such as the men’s Big South Basketball Championship Game and the first Round Game against Davidson, the rise of Fantasy Sports, what it takes to be a scholarship athlete, and why the Bookworm is the only place on campus to get Winthrop gear. The Best of Arts and Entertainment looked at the World of Gaming, Battle between two Rock Star Video Games, the Music Department’s Opera Theater, and Black History Exhibit of Wilhelmenia Wilcox.
