Biographic Information
Mary Sue Britton McElveen was born in Kingstree SC on April 30, 1922. While at Winthrop she was a member of the musical group The Swanks, student government and other student organizations. From 1950 until 1970 she was the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees for Winthrop and was the first woman and Alumna to hold this position. She died on July 9, 2010
