Biographic Information
Mary Ellen Adams Miller was born on November 9, 1918 in Cross Hill South Carolina. At Winthrop she majored in History and French. After Winthrop she taught for awhile before being recruited by the Signal Corps. After the war Mary Ellen was a stay at home mom until 1959 when she began teaching French and History at Dalton High School on a part-time basis to alleviate a shortage of teachers. Mary Ellen retired from teaching in 1981. Mary Ellen Miller died on April 23, 2013 in Pontiac, Illinois due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.
