Scope and Content Note

This series consists of the sports newspaper produced by Winthrop College Eagle Club. The Eagle: Sports News for the Community reported on the athletic team and the athletic department as a whole. In August 1983, The Eagle: Sports News for the Community replaced The Garnet & Gold: A Voice of Winthrop Athletics. In 1990, The Eagle went from a newspaper format to a newsletter.
