Scope and Content Note
This series consists of the records pertaining to and produced by the Wade Hampton Literary Society. The Wade Hampton Literary Society was organized in 1909 and named after Confederate Colonel Wade Hampton III who was a Confederate cavalry leader during the American Civil War and a politician from Charleston, South Carolina.
