Scope and Content Note

This collection contains blankets and pillow shams relate to Winthrop. This series includes Class Blankets which had been an important part of Winthrop since 1935 until about 1980 when the rise of commuter students minimized class cohesion. The blankets were designed by the Class and bears the classes’ respective mascot and were used to symbolize class unity and spirit. The colors of the class were also represented in the blankets. The blankets were often displayed at Glory and Mighty parties, Junior Follies, Classes Night, and special class events.
