Biographical Note

Margaret Rene Pegues Kinney was born May 27, 1940 in McColl, SC. She graduated from Cheraw (SC) High School, St. Mary’s School and Junior College (Raleigh, NC), and Woman's College now named UNC (UNC- Greensboro) with a B.A. degree in English Profession. Over the years, she worked as a teacher, newspaper journalist, and assistant newspaper publisher. Margaret was also a church, community, and state volunteer. She served as a member of the SCMOY Search Committee. Her husband was William Light Kinney, Jr. and they had 2 children (1 deceased) and 3 grandchildren.
