Description
In 1895, Winthrop begins classes in Rock Hill, SC. The 1895-1896 academic year was Winthrop's first school year in it's new home following the institution's move from Columbia, SC where it had been founded in 1886.
This photograph is of Tillman Hall, (known as Main Building at the time) shortly after construction was completed in 1895.
