Description

Psalter. Single folio on vellum. The Netherlands, ca. 1475: 175 x 127 (written area 114 x 76). Single column, 18 lines. The rubrics written in Dutch. Decoration: alternating red blue one-line initials; a single three-line initial in red with a quatrefoil piercing and feathery violet tracery extending along the margin. Remnants of tape on recto. Text: Psalms 31.5 confitebor…32.8 inhabitantes. Provenance: from a manuscript once owned by Cleveland manuscript dealer Otto F. Ege, number 43 in his posthumous portfolio, Fifty Original Leaves from Medieval Manuscripts.
