Historical Note
The Ellerbe (Ellerby) Family arrived in Virginia in the 1670s. Thomas Ellerby moved to the Pee Dee region of South Carolina in the late 1730s.The spelling of the name changed after 1750.
Scope and Content Note
The Ellerbe Family History by Ronald William Ellerbe chronicles the origins and history of the Thomas Ellerby family of South Carolina from the 1670s to 1986. In addition to genealogical information, the book includes photographs, transcriptions of family documents, a coat of arms, historical and biographical sketches, and an index.
