This collection consists of Fifty Tears Improving the Quality of Life Through Community Service: Springs Foundation 1942-1992 written by Marshall Doswell which offers a history of the Springs Foundation, Inc. which is the philanthropic arm of Springs Industries, Inc. The foundation was created to promote “the general welfare of the residents” of Lancaster, Chester, and York counties of South Carolina regardless of their race, religion, or place of employment. It concentrates its activity in recreation, education, healthcare, community service, and religion.
