Historical Note

Iris Lynn Littlejohn McKown was born at Thicketty Station, S.C. in Cherokee County on August 31 1887. She was a 1909 graduate of Winthrop College. She taught school and helped organize Home Demonstration work in Cherokee County. More information about Mrs. McKown may be found on page 723a in the book.

Scope and Content Note

Littlejohn Genealogy: Oliver Littlejohn's Descendants by Iris Littlejohn McKown chronicles the family history of the Littlejohn Family of Virginia and South Carolina from the 1700s to 1953. Many other surnames are covered in their connection to the Littilejohns. The family was in South Carolina by 1774. The book includes photographs, copies of documents, historical sketches, biographical sketches, an appendix and an index. Please see the attached list of photographs and index.
