Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of a booklet titled Laurelwood Cemetery published in 1919 in Rock Hill, SC. The booklet concerns Laurelwood Cemetery Rock Hill, South Carolina and includes a history of the property and purchase of the land from Anne White (1872), A. H. White (1894), and J. H. Witherspoon (1914). The publication also includes cemetery history and burial customs, history of cemetery plan, rules and regulations, service charges, procedures, and costs of lots. Of particular interest are the attached 1912 map of Laurelwood cemetery with plots numbered and a survey titled “Final Plan For Cemetery Extension” for the City of Rock Hill done by E. S. Draper, Landscape Architect and City Planner dated December 1918.
