The Robert A. Hope Letter consists of a typescript copy of a letter dated July 12, 1863 written by Confederate Officer Robert A. Hope (possibly from the 13th Regiment, Kentucky Calvary) from Camp Beaver, KY to his family and friends concerning his capture and treatment by federal troops during the American Civil War.

The Robert A. Hope Civil War Letter was given to the Archives by Genie Poag on September 15, 1989.
