Scope and Content Note
The 6th Regiment South Carolina Volunteers were a southern military unit organized in 1861 during the American Civil War which included numerous York County citizens. The records include photocopies and typescript copies of rosters, muster rolls, parole records, regiment movements, anecdotes, and other information compiled by William M. Ferguson concerning the regiment.

The 6th Regiment was given as a gift to the Archives on June 17, 1983 by William Ferguson.
