Scope and Content Note

The Petruzella Family photographs consist of a passport, marriage license, and photographs of the Petruzella/Petruzzella and Verciglio/Virciglio families who immigrated to the United States (Alabama) from Sicily in the early 1900s. Most of the photographs and material are related to Baldassare Petruzella/ Petruzzella (1885-1964) and Elisa Verciglio Petruzella/ Petruzzella. The marriage license is for the marriage of Baldassare Petruzzella (25 yrs) and Elisa Verciglio (30 yrs) on March 22, 1910. The Italian passport was issued to Luigia Virciglia on September 29, 1876. Some of the names in the collection include (spellings varied): Ballassaro Petruzzella; Elisa Verciglio, Calogera Petruzella; Crocetta Virciglio; Toto Lombardo; Josie Verciglio; Luigia Virciglio; Bartolomeo Busami; Concetta Petruzzella; Salvatore Lombardo; Alla Lingnara;
