Historical Note

The South Carolina Association of Extension Home Economists was an organization created for the Extension Agents of the state, both current and retired. The organization was organized in 1941 to strengthen and improve professional standards as home economists in Extension Service; to promote fellowship among it members; provide media for the exchange of ideas and methods; strengthen and stimulate member participation; and provide opportunity for recognition of leadership and service.

Scope and Content Note

The South Carolina Association of Extension Home Economists Records consist of histories, constitutions, minutes, annual reports, handbooks, brochures, membership lists, nomination records and clippings, relating to the activities and history of the Association. The South Carolina Association of Extension Home Economists was organized in 1941 for the Extension Agents of the state, both current and retired.

The records of the South Carolina Association of Extension Home Economists were deposited on December 2, 1977 by Mary Batson, past president of the organization.
