Employment is a key goal for students and adults with all different types of disabilities. Yet, obtaining employment remains a challenge.

Students and adults with Intellectual and other disabilities need to be prepared not only to succeed as employees, but also with the tools to acquire jobs. Finding and accessing resources and services can be a lengthy and intimidating process. It is vital to support students, graduates and adults with the tools that they need to successfully transition into the workforce.

This presentation will showcase a comprehensive Job Search Toolkit that can be used independently with little training or assistance and that is designed to support people with disabilities as they initiate a job search. The Toolkit is easily utilized by numerous audiences: students, graduates and adults with disabilities, parents, advocates, and professionals. It can be used individually or in a classroom setting.

The presentation will highlight the purpose of the Toolkit development, an overview of the information and how it relates to job search success. It will also provide suggestions on how to use the Toolkit to access information in your local area.

The Job Search Toolkit is a free resource guide that will increase access to employment service providers and also disability friendly employers.
